Doncaster 1XI 3-1 Fylde 1XI
Investec Women's England Hockey League North Conference
Fylde Ladies travelled across to Doncaster on Sunday in their National Conference North match looking for their first points of the season. They scored first through a penalty corner struck home by Dawn Child but Doncaster equalised ten minutes later, with the scores tied at 1-1 at halftime. Unfortunately Doncaster managed to score twice more in the second half resulting in another disappointing loss for Fylde.
Fylde 2XI 1-1 Formby 1XI
North Hockey League West Division 2
Fylde 2nd Team played at home against Formby 1st Team drawing a game they should have won.
With a number of second team players returning to the team, the squad looked stronger than has been the case recently.
The first fifteen minutes were very disjointed and saw Formby score with a run which started deep and a shot well taken which Katie Barker assisted into the net.
Immediately a sweeping move from Fylde saw Lisa Swaine hit an unstoppable ball into the bottom corner.
The remainder of the game was fairly even but in the last 15 minutes Fylde started to apply consistent pressure. A number of short corners and shots followed but none were good enough to beat the goalkeeper.
The point was well deserved and hopefully the team will regain its shape and score more next week.

Garstang 4XI 0-4 Fylde 5XI
Lancashire Central Women's Hockey League Division 2
The Fylde 5th Team played away against Garstang 4th Team and took a good 4-0 win over their local rivals. A strong team with no reserves dominated the game and played some good hockey throughout. Goals were shared between the forwards; Phoebe Caunce, Charlotte Fuller and Hannah Doyle and a file solo effort from Abi Johnson – high into the net above the goalkeeper! Abi shared Player of the Match with Nikki Richmond who is one of the regular senior players around whom the young team are developing into a good structured unit.
