Ladies Match Reports 21/09/19


1XI start their season in the National League Conference North next week.

Longridge 1XI 3-2 Fylde 2XI

North Hockey League West Division 2


On a very bright day with the sun streaming down, Fylde started their new season with a team which had many changes from last season.In the first 15 minutes they dominated the Longridge side with Hannah Mears scoring from a short corner. The Longridge team had two players from Fylde’s first team last year. Longirdge played better as the game progressed and scored three goals in open play.

Hannah Mears scored a solo goal five minutes from the end with Fylde trying to get an equaliser.

The season will be one of consolidation with many younger players moving up.


Fylde 3XI 2-1 Keswick 1XI

North Hockey League West Division 3 North


Ladies 3rd team took on Keswick 1st team at home in their first league match. A good start from Fylde secured a short corner and a fantastic strike from Adele Piddington made up 1-0 up at half-time. Fylde continued to work hard and great first time performances from Izzy Harkins and Emma Savidge.


Everyone worked hard in the heat continuing to attack and another short corner was awarded this time being slipped in from the left by Mia Anderton, her first goal for the team. 2-0 up to Fylde did not stop Keswick attacking and we conceeded a short corner which Keswick converted making it 2-1. With just 10 minutes left all of the players worked hard and defended well to secure our first win of the season.

Fylde 4XI 4-2 Preston 2XI

Lancashire Central Women's Hockey League Division 1


Ladies 4’s played their first league match at home in scorching hot weather! An excellent start to the new season with a 4-2 win over Preston ladies 2nd team. Goals coming from Ashleigh Mills, Millie Duncan, Eve Gooderham and Jess Cole.Excellent game play from all, using training ideas and putting skills into action. Thanks to all the side line support! Player of the match goes to two people, Millie Duncan and Emily Marsh with outstanding effort from Pippa Rogerson.


Clitheroe and Blackburn Northern 4XI 3-8 Fylde 5XI

Lancashire Central Women's Hockey League Division 2


The Fylde 5th Team had the best ladies’ result of the day and go top of the table with a fabulous 8-3 victory over Clitheroe & Blackburn Northern 4th Team. The hot day was hard work for their 11 players but all three strikers proved their positions with maiden hat-tricks from Laura Knowles and Charlotte Fuller and two for Phoebe Caunce. The new youngsters blended well with the experienced adults and the training routines are definitely paying-off!
