The season has got off to a great start, with all teams now well into their league games and some good wins under our belts. This has also given us chance to see the impact of the EH league re-structure on our teams, and look at how well our coaching serves the aspirations of the club over the coming season.
To that end we wanted to share a few changes in the focus of our coaching team. Going forwards Chris Simcock will be focusing on supporting the Mens section as well as his role as Mens 1s coach, and in addition leading our Outreach work. Outreach is a key development area for the club as we aim to bring the joy of hockey to as many people as possible, and has been identified by England Hockey as a priority for the future decisions in choosing the EH Talent Centres and Talent Academies.
Ali Ghazanfar will be focusing on the Ladies section as well as his role as Ladies 1s coach. In this Head of Performance role he will lead the coaching of the Performance Group and the development of the coaches to support our talent pathway.
Lisa Brown joined the Coaching team during pre-season and we are now delighted that she has agreed to take over the coaching of Ladies 2s which means they will now have a dedicated coach for the team on both training nights and match days.
Good luck to all teams on Saturday... and now that spectators are able to come into Mill Farm it would be great to see as many people as possible supporting from the comfort of the stand or the bar!
