Saturday 4th December - and a great start to Christmas.
What a day, the Mens 1st XI started the day off with a 6-2 win against Prescot, the ladies 3s followed suit with an impressive 5-0 against Penrith, along with Ladies 2 winning 3-0 against Liverpool Sefton and Mens 3s beating Prescot 1-0. Unfortunately, we couldn’t have a full club winning streak as Ladies 4s finished the day off with an unfortunate 1-3 loss to am impressive Brookfield side, nevertheless spirits were high and it was sure to be a good night!
The Christmas Social was held at the Springfield’s bar, Mill Farm. Gone were the usual canteen tables, replaced with sleek circular tables, beautiful chair and Christmas decorations galore. The venue hosted 70 club members from 8 of the clubs 10 teams and with an impressive age range of 14 – 73 years old. All members young and old were keen to enjoy the evening of good food, live music and the compulsory Christmas crackers, party hats and silly photos.
Thanks must go to the venue for making it a night of good food, laughs and dancing. We can’t forget the beautiful brownies, cookies and rocky road provided by JC’s homebakes as well as all the parents who acted as taxi services. A big thank you to all those who worked hard behind the scenes organising the event and raffle and also to all the players who supported the event, it wouldn’t have been the success it was without you all!
Next social event: Mixed Christmas Tournament, Thursday 16th December, Mill Farm, 18:15 – 21:00
