Mens section welcome Blackpool HC players in Club Merger

The club management committee are pleased to announce the merger of Blackpool HC men’s Section with Fylde HC.

Blackpool HC have been playing hockey in the north west for nearly 40 years and have also had an extensive history for providing excellent junior coaching for the local community. The joining of the two sections (Fylde & Blackpool) will enable the club to grow in both player numbers and standard.

We understand on a personal level the tough decision the club had to make when discussing closing its doors at the end of the 17-18 season, and that the merge with Fylde was the best way to keep men's hockey going on the coast. We as a club (Fylde) do not take that decision for granted and appreciate everyone who is now leaving their well known club & home of hockey to come on this new adventure. We hope you enjoy the friendly atmosphere at Fylde and feel back at home with your new teammates as soon as possible.

The now new members of FHC will also bring experienced junior and senior coaches, a national league level umpire, and a plethora of talented players across that can suit all teams to enable Fylde HC to develop it’s position within the hockey pyramid and enable the club the ability to provide a great hockey experience for all that join.

Starting from the 18/19 season the club will have 4 male teams; NW Div 2, NW Div 3n, NW 5nn and NW 6n.

This will promise to be an exciting season for Fylde, and with the introduction of an additional ladies’ team also, the club is growing from strength to strength. This season will also see the completion of Fylde HC's move to the exciting new facilities at Mill Farm Sports Village. These purpose built facilities will provide an excellent environment to develop hockey within Lancashire and beyond, it provides the club with some of the best facilities in the country and makes the coasters an attractive prospect to anyone who wants to play hockey in the North West.
